Adjutant General's Kent State University investigation files, 1970-1979.

Contains evidence produced by the Adjutant General's investigation of the shootings in 1970. Includes statements by guardsmen, firing incident reports, FBI reports, riot training reports, transcripts of witnesses' interviews, copies of court rulings, claims for reimbursement of legal expenses by guardsmen, and sections of lawsuit transcripts. Also includes names of guardsmen present at shooting. May also include guardsman's enlistment date, birthdate, and birthplace.

When Mexican and Civil War soldiers mustered out of service, many regiments turned their flags over to the state of Ohio. The General Assembly authorized the purchase of glass cases to display battle flags in the Statehouse.
